Eternal Storm runs a constraint satisfaction algorithm that compiles Sudoku grids in real time. Each puzzle begins as an empty 9×9 matrix (or 6×6, 4×4 for smaller grids). The generator fills cells using backtracking with forward checking, ensuring every number placement respects row, column, and box uniqueness constraints. Once a complete valid solution exists, the engine removes cells strategically to create the puzzle, validating that exactly one solution remains.
Difficulty is determined by analyzing the minimum set of techniques required to solve the puzzle without guessing. Easy grids rely on Single Candidates and Pointing Pairs. Master grids demand advanced strategies like Swordfish, XY-Wing, and Simple Coloring. The solver replays the same logical steps a human would take, logging each technique application for post-solve review.
All puzzle states auto-save locally on device. The Library archives completed and in-progress grids with timestamps, difficulty tags, and completion percentages.
